The European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) is a leading, independent authority that evaluates the safety of vehicles sold in Europe. Since its inception in 1996, Euro NCAP has been setting the benchmark for automotive safety by conducting rigorous crash tests and advanced safety assessments. Their mission is to provide consumers with transparent, evidence-based information to help them make informed choices, while driving innovation and higher safety standards across the automotive industry.
At Deloitte Digital, we work together with Euro NCAP to drive the digital transformation of their operations and public-facing products. From streamlining internal processes to creating powerful digital tools for first responders and stakeholders, our collaboration is built on trust, shared ambition, and a commitment to making a real-world impact. This strong partnership has enabled us to support Euro NCAP in enhancing their digital capabilities, helping them deliver more accessible and impactful solutions to their stakeholders.

A Digital lifeLine for First Responders
Looking back at a key milestone, back in November 2023 we launched an updated version of the RESCUE app for Euro NCAP (Europe) and ANCAP (Australia & New Zealand). Our cross-functional team built the new application from the ground up in just 2,5 months. We designed it to be future-proof, ready for the easy addition of new capabilities while keeping costs under control.
The RESCUE app is more than just a tool; it’s a lifeline. It serves as a central repository for all available rescue sheets, providing critical information at the touch of a button. This enables swift extractions from crashed vehicles, scenarios where every second counts
Over the past years, we’ve continued to expand the capabilities of the RESCUE app. This includes launching a web version at rescue.euroncap.com, adding a new category for trucks and vans, and introducing an API for third-party integration. Since its relaunch, the mobile app has been downloaded over 360 000 times, and the web app has received more than 525 000 visits. These figures are a testament to the app’s vital role in supporting first responders and saving lives.

The app was developed using Flutter for seamless cross-platform deployment, with Azure Cosmos DB and Azure Functions powering the backend. The build followed intensive Spark and Imagine phases to explore and meet the real-world needs of emergency services.
The launch and continued evolution of the RESCUE app underscores Euro NCAP’s dedication to safety and commitment to leveraging technology in the service of public good.
The Road Ahead
Meanwhile, we are excited to support Euro NCAP as they continue to strengthen their digital ecosystem. From reimagining how safety information is shared across different channels to building scalable and flexible technology foundations, our focus is on creating a future-ready platform that adapts to a broad spectrum of users. By modernizing tooling and streamlining complex workflows behind the scenes, we’re helping Euro NCAP deepen their impact, making safety insights more accessible, timely, and actionable for consumers, manufacturers, and emergency services alike. We’ll share more on all of this over the course of 2026, when you’ll be able to see the results of all of this hard work for yourself.
Our journey with Euro NCAP is full of exciting turns, stay tuned as we continue navigating the road to safer, smarter mobility together.
